“North Korea warns....”
And just what do they have to back that warning up WITH?
Kim Jong Un may have the means to send a first strike against the United State, or of any of its other interests, including various allies, somewhere in the world. But he can only pull that trigger once. The retaliation would massive, horrific and of pretty final nature, and there would be no capability to mount a second strike from North Korea.
Mutual Assured Destruction only means something if the opponents facing each other are on something of a parity of power. There is NO way, Kim Jong Un could knock out the US on the first strike. Hell, this country just got hit with a major hurricane, another on the way, and there is every reason to believe the US will recover in very short order, regardless of the toll in monetary damage and numbers perished (which remarkably, have been relatively low up to now).
Nothing Kim Jong Un could throw at the US would be remotely comparable.
If the little ronery runt goon even of gets it this far. I’d expect a shootdown first.
If there is a nuclear exchange, we would wipe them out, but my big fear is that some continuity of government plan would work and our government would still be in charge.
If there’s gotta be a nuclear war, we should at least get a new bunch of leaders outta the deal. Just imagine, you emerge from the rubble, and are met with FEMA giving you the news that all of congress and the DC infrastructure has survived and will still be in charge.
Kinda sad.
