This girl swam across a friggin' LAKE? Didn't get hypothermia or fatigue?

Even the smallest of lakes is usually about a good 1/2 mile across and still a good 20 feet deep.

“Didn’t get hypothermia or fatigue? “

Adrenalin and fear are remarkable insulators.:-)

ADRENALINE IS A POWERFUL DRUG AND MOTIVATOR, THEN ADD IN FEAR FOR A TURBO BOOST.

Living in MN lake country and at this time of year she could do it, probably having been brought up with lots of swimming lessons since she was 4 or 5 years old. By the time I was 16 I’d received my Red Cross Swimmer rating and could have done it if under the duress she was.

Lots of lakes are less than a half mile across at some points. It is early September. The water has not had a chance to cool much from the high temperatures of late summer.

She was likely very tired, but swimmers with decent technique can swim for miles.

Thompson lake, the lake the girl swam across, is about a mile long and about 1/4 mile across:
