The forecasted 2PM Tuesday storm position looks to be over top of the smokies, so yes. Also recognize that hurricane force winds could reach Atlanta, so this thing is going to be potent for a while.
At some yet-to-be-determined point in/near Tennessee, the storm will slow or stall before finally getting swept out... so don’t sleep on it: flood-prone areas need to be aware.
GFS has it going into the smokies, then doing a 180 degree turn into Mississippi. Weather is “fun” and interesting (From a certain perspective), too bad its destructive though.
The actual position tonight is slightly (0.2 lat) south of the NHC forecasted line from last night... lends further credence to the “more west” solution.
