Well, east-west barrier islands are migrating westward, and north-south barrier islands are migrating southward, but at least we know where all that sand is going now, Cape Point on Hatteras. How big is Shelly Island now?
A mile, so they say.
But that ocean sand can be pushed around pretty easily by Mother Nature.
Last I read the water between island and Cape Point is filling in to knee deep. Soon it will become and extension of the Cape.
