Mom says no one she is meeting, and she has been out and about every day this past week. (she has been in remission until last week and still drives) is preparing. She is trying to tell them this is not a “normal” hurricane. She says life in Sanford is normal. She says many have never been through something like this, so are not taking it seriously.
Sadly, that’s when people die.
They’ll be the ones clogging up 911 with calls for help in the teeth of the storm when it is not possible for anyone to go out and help, and yet will expect someone to try to come and *save* them.
Like going out in a storm is the smart thing to do when it’s bad enough to be destroying your house.
*sigh*
Thank God your mom has more sense than them.
