Agree. The surge is underestimated. I’ve seen more than a few interstate bridges, rail cars, and large buildings wiped away by storm surges.
The MS Gulf Coast causeway comes to mind— totally destroyed- concrete sections with rebar lifted and droped off supports, as well as the Lake Ponchartrain I-10 turnaround causeway. Water moves mountains.
