A model run showing just how big the eye is forecast to be - even on a western shift, the right front eyewall goes right into Miami.

The scary part is that even with the eye wall just west of Miami, that means the most dangerous part of the storm will be literally over Miami itself. And that will put the highly vulnerable Miami Beach area in danger of very high winds, very heavy rain and storm surges. Those Art Deco style buildings built between 1923 and 1943 may not survive this storm.
