There are names for people who think that. Among them are Democrat, liberal, leftist...
Which is more dangerous? The enemy in your tent behind your back, or the enemy outside the tent?
“Can you give me an example where Reagan said forget the Republicans..I will join the Dem side of Congress on this.”
Can you give me an example where the repub congressmen and Senators back in the 80s attacked Reagan constantly, openly worked HARD against everything he ran on, launched endless investigations into his background, implied he was a racist and a Russian spy?
Reagan didn’t face deep globalist treason in his own party. That was back when the GOP was an America first party, not a globalist NWO party created by the Bush wing.
The GOP “leadership” had it coming, and now Trump has also, to some degree, neutered Pelosi and Schumer but they don’t yet get it.
AGAIN, the poster said Reagan did it. I asked for examples when Reagan said screw the Republicans I will side with the Dems..be it they were in the majority or minority
I want specific examples so I can compare.
Yep. This is the issue. The R’s have a majority in BOTH houses AND the presidency, yet they can’d to anything. They are a laughing stock. The Dems are evil and the R’s are a clown car.
And my strong belief is that they are really different branches of the same party - and being outed by Trump for what they are.
Good. It’s about damn time someone shouted from the rooftops that the emperor has no clothes.
It will be entertaining to see where this leads us, though in the long run there is a real risk that many may die.
I think we are seeing a civilization in its hopeless final thrashing trying to survive. And it’s not just the US. All of our civilized world is coping with unprecedented challenges.
They are about done kicking the can down the road for they are out of road. It’s all just theater now. The veil is about to be lifted, tossed away, and burned up.
Btw, IIRC , Republicans didn’t like Reagan when he started.
I guess it depends on the definition of “it”. :)
I asked Hubby that the other day. Isn’t that why responsible people carry insurance?
The thing I likes best was how he blindsided Ryan. Ryan the moron was out there an hour before criticizing this exact deal suggested by the Dems.
He had NO idea it was happening as he spoke.
Love seeing him get punked in public.
Well, Reagan did have a massive Democratic majority in the House for the entirety of his term.
But the Democratic Party then probably had as many “conservatives” as the Republicans did. The system was rather different.
At the same time, a president with a majority in Congress running to help from the minority is a rarity.
The last great example I can think of is Bill Clinton on NAFTA.
He passed that with Republican support since it split the Dems.
PRyno's news conference afterwards was a laugh - he was more incoherent than usual.
President Trump is no dummy and he knows that nothing will get done with these dummies, especially since both are "Never Trumpers" working to torpedo him from the inside.
“Republicans, McConnell and Ryan, have clear notice, work with Trump or hell be more than happy to work with Democrats.”
For one term or less.
Trump needs to and ought to have gotten rid of McConnell and Ryan as leaders.
Working with Pelosi and Schumer is not any sort of answer.
Never, not once have they surrendered let alone preemptively surrendered. I think most of us suspected Trump was more a blue dog democrat and with NYC roots he is used to working “across the aisle” to get something done. I don’t think any of us saw the GOP as the true surrender monkeys that they are.
Overall, Trump surrendered indefensible turf (indefensible by GOP standards) to the Dems as a way of leveraging the GOP in the future. It is a huge gamble. My bet is this delivers the final blow to the GOP.
Anyone who thinks Pelosi and Schumer are less dangerous is not a realist.
Yep, but it never goes on forever. The biggest problem is that eventually control of the exponential growth of the problem becomes unsustainable.
I think we’ve been there for a decade, and the paint is starting to peel on the facade.
But what is the end result of the final blow? Just working with the Dems on what they want????
We have left leaning people in the WH right now..from Gary Cohn to Ivanka to Dina Powell to Mcmaster and on and on and on.
Before Trump was elected, I figured that I’d be happy with him if he worked hard on the Swamp for 2 years and then left.
He did not neuter them. He empowered them to wage war this fall. The GOP will decide its future this fall. I am not optimistic.
Oh, they are very dangerous. I think where we differ is that I see much more danger in the R leadership than you do.
I was an R my entire life until W’s second term when I saw a republican president and republican congress act and peform just like democrats. That was when THIS little boy saw that the emperor has no clothes.
It is just becoming more obvious to a lot of people now. And Trump is no W.
The D’s are pure evil, and the R’s are outing themselves as far more in legion with them than most people ever imagined.
