One is reminded of the ancient Greek military formation known as the “phalanx”, in which a tightly bunched infantry armed with spears and shields, moved in a mass, beating about in all directions as they waded into battle.
Phalanx is derived from the Greek word phalange, meaning “finger”. The Spanish Fascists under Franco adopted the term “Falange” for their shock troops.
As much as the Antifas claim to despise Fascism, they are certainly willing to adopt the tactics and objectives of their “enemies”.
Maybe we should start referring the Antifas as the “Phalanx”.
