Students returning to the University of Texas at Austin this fall will have twice as much help wrestling with some of the big questions that college presents. For instance, does water contain gluten? And, is all food genetically modified?

“If you’re not eating good things, how do they expect your brain to grow?” said Hannah Logan, a senior at the University of Massachusetts Amherst majoring in sustainable food and farming.

Substitute chervil for cilantro, and you’ll be much happier. I know I am.

Since when do college students have time for this cr@p?

I had my nose in books the whole time. Or working several jobs.

I like pointing out to prideful vegans that yoghurt and often beer have living, moving things in them, and eating their products, such as cheese and alcohol does nothing to honor those that died to make those products for them.

Then I look at them until I sense they are uncomfortable with both that thought and me, and I walk away.

I knew a vegetarian who would order pepperoni pizza and loved Pork ‘n Beans. She didn’t realize those white cubes were pork fat and never connected meat with the name “Pork ‘n Beans.” She’d order pepperoni pizza and throw the pepperoni in the trash. Way to honor the animal that died. Uh huh, as if the pepperoni grease didn’t leak into the pizza. Proof not eating meat stunts brain growth.

Well gee, if your brain grows too much, won’t your skull crack open?

Personally, I subscribe to Cliff Clavin’s theory on improving one’s intelligence.
