I climbed to the top, expecting to see a huge lake. As far as I could see, there were nothing but trees.
New construction is being done on the south levee.
Just went to another website and read that Hurricane Irma has touched off the machines that record earthquakes. That one powerful hurricane.
Nearby Arcadia got hammered by Charley.
Well, I’m inclined to call BS on a NHC spokesman getting tearful during an on air news interview.
Just a guy/user on WU. He saw it, reported it, was questioned and told what station, when, but didn’t give a name. Things are moving so fast at WU likely nobody saw his post to challenge or confirm. A Naples WUer about two hours ago said city was devoid of birds now. I watch WU for the on-the-ground reports; they don’t have any better overall grok than anybody else. Only good for anecdotals, IMO.
Good grief! All because of glo-bull warming, dontcha know...
No chance of that!
Please post a link to the Irma earthquake info.
Correction: That is one powerful storm.
It wasn’t a post to showboat... and buried in hundreds of new posts in a few minutes. I’m wondering if TD13 heading E might help pull Irma W of a direct SFL hit.

Just in case someone else hasn’t seen this. Pretty impressive. Not sure there’s enough dramamine in the world for me to get on that particular flight. Or valium.
After Hurricane Andrew, I was respectful to wait three weeks before touring the US1 corridor. In the distance, I saw a five story hotel. As I got alongside, I saw there was only the steel structure standing. All the walls were missing, and you could see the horizon through the hotel!
Oh I do it too, I should have added that:). Lol.
Hey, FReind! I hope you are out of harms way. As a former resident of SW Florida, with many friends in the area, I’ll be keeping a close eye.
Praying for all in Irma’s path.
Thank you! Almost had me wondering if Kim Jong Un was lobbing one of his H bombs.
A Key’s friend has a house on each side of US1 during Wilma, said one side got a high tidal surge, and the other house didn’t. Wifey was in the non-surge house.
The reason? Debris and boats on trailers had clogged the bridges’undersides. No water could get through.
And heads into the Gulf.
Say goodbye to somewhere if that thing refuels in the Gulf.
Looks like that'll change in a week or so.
I volunteered in Homestead tent city after Andrew. I recall local LEO were living in what was left of the Holiday Inn.
