Love to see what crime they had probable cause which they were investigating. They may have had suspicion he was drunk or had been drinking but that is not at the level of probable cause.

Someone was right on the money, they were trying to cover their backsides for a dumbass chase.

The SLCPD was doing the Logan PD a favor. The collision occurred in Logan, Utah. The trucker was at the UofU hospital because he had been badly burned. Logan is 90 miles north of SLC.

Exactly. The cops engaged in a chase that killed the perp and critically injured an innocent bystander. They were trying to find an out that would minimize their culpability.
What do they do? Try to get a vile of blood from an innocent victim that is unconscious. Sick.
Oh yeah I almost forgot. They arrest a nurse that protects her patients. Absolutely brilliant.
