Dave, the accident happened in Logan, Utah, 90 miles from SLC. The trucker had been transported to the UofU hospital for treatment. The only way what you wrote makes any sense is if the SLCPD was acting on behalf of the LoganPD who may well have some liability because they were in a “police chase” when the head-on accident occurred. The trucker was from Idaho, and he died.

2. I think the cop is in even more trouble now. There is certainly a claim that his interference in the victim's treatment contributed to the death of the victim. This is a criminal issue.
