Any demand to cut government spending, limit gold-plated benefits or increase accountability is a threat to these guys.

I just call them cops, because a conservative cop will still protect a leftist cop, when there is a dispute between a leftist cop and a citizen.
Look at this case - there were officials from two other law enforcement agencies (including a state law enforcement agency) who witnessed this, yet did nothing while the cop went outside of the Constitution.
