Bottom line.....all are making ‘the best decisions’ they can in an arena where all to choices are bad......
Therefore I give great credit to all officials over this event who have ‘prevented’ a whole lot worse than 5 deaths.....

Unfortunately, 5 deaths is just the beginning. They are likely to discover bodies weeks from now.
For the most part I actually agree, but I just don’t buy the notion that some limited number, even if only 200-300k of people in the most vulnerable areas, should / could not have been evac’d. How is that (a limited evac) a “bad choice”, given what any reasonably bright person familiar with the area and its history should have foreseen? Now you have to get those people out of the middle of a major disaster area. It’s much harder...
