Yes I have been talking about this for days as you know
he is catching on now too..
the key is how much rainfall falls over western Harris counnty..but i think even its it stops raining now its OVER
The dams will overtop...and may even fail before that..water has never been this high and they had seepage in past events
you can bet soon we will see people out there trying to repair/plug any seepage
he talked to officials and answered my question
30,000 cfc coming in and only 3000 flowing out
now I expect that inflow to decrease since the 2-3 inch per hour rates are gone but still
Exactly.
What decisions to make. How much water to let loose, how fast. Precarious.
The Harris County Flood Warning System will show rainfall by time and in increments as short as 15 minutes.
This rain gauge shows 33.4” of rain in the last 5 days, most of it coming in fast from 9:30-9:45 pm Aug 26 (.40”) to 4:15 am Aug 27. The gauge measured multiple 15 minute increments where almost 2” fell - per 15 minutes! (listed in reverse time):
8/27/2017 12:45 AM 8/27/2017 1:00 AM 0.56”

And thus we see the cause of the flooding in Houston: too much rain over too long a period on flat land with poor drainage.
