And there is no downside. Yes we owned slaves. SO WHAT? Who didn't? Nearly every society and culture in history has as well. Why hate only WHITES for it? The Muslims started the trade, as did Black Africans. Police don't go after drug users, but the dealers. So why punish the White users of slaves more than the Muslim sellers? Sorry, minorities. Personally, I am sick of this misappropriation of the word ‘slavery’... This government has enslaved all Americans into debt that the majority will not live to see their debt paid off. Who are the slave masters today... US government, who treats US citizens as endured servants and IF you do not pay them, they will lock you up and take every thing you have. One can pay for a piece of property, but IF the property taxes are not paid the county will take your property. Government is color blind in their ownership of ‘we the people’.

The Left believes that they are dividing "Whites" with all this nonsense, they are wrong. The "Whites" have never self aligned or grouped like other peoples. They are not one people from a common source or experience.
White people today are the product of vastly complex, different and ancient origins. All one needs to do, to realize this, is study the history of one, small country or region, say, Switzerland.
If the Left persists in attacking White people on the basis of skin color, they will cause White people to align/group on that very thing.
