Galveston is well to the east of where it will hit. It’s still uncertain of course, but Galveston is a bit too far. There are a lot of sparsely inhabited barrier islands that can be hit. I think the real danger will be the inland floods. There may be many days of 10 inch rain in some locations. That’s too much. Or 20 inches in one day, but that’s probably less likely.

This storm is expected to make a U-turn and go back into the Gulf in an Eastward direction.

It will be a slow moving rain maker and still (possibly) a Tropical Storm when it hits Galveston.

There is concern in Louisiana because of the fact the system is going to be such a slow mover.

Lafayette, Louisiana -- between Lake Charles and Baton Rouge -- is forecast to get 10 inches of rain.

Galveston can ill afford a six foot storm surge, 60 mph winds and 20=30 inches of rain -- which is possible.

Current predictions have TS Harvey (but over water) by next Tuesday -- over Galveston Island.

Pic Below will change, but for now...
