A New poll shows Arizona Senator Jeff Flake is in big trouble, in what might be the toughest political race of his career. AZ Highground reports Flake is trailing Kelli Ward by 14%.
AZ Highground reports:
A statewide Arizona survey of 400 likely Arizona 2018 General Election voters shows Republican incumbent Senator Jeff Flake fourteen points behind his primary Republican opponent Kelli Ward and eight points behind prospective Democratic opponent U.S. Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (D, AZ-9).
Q. If the primary election for United States Senate were held today, would you vote for [Rotate] Jeff Flake or Kelli Ward?
28.2% Jeff Flake 42.5% Kelli Ward 5.1% Some other candidate 24.2% Dont know, Refused
Q. If the General Election for United States Senate were held today, would you vote for [Rotate] Jeff Flake or Kyrsten Sinema?
32.5% Jeff Flake 40.5% Kyrsten Sinema 27.0% Dont know, Refused
The Republican Primary Election sample was of 273 high efficacy Republican and PND/Independent voters and has a margin of error of ±5.93%. The General Election sample of 400 high efficacy general election voters has a margin of error of ±4.88%.
While Election Day may still be more than a year away, Senator Jeff Flakes campaign has a lot of work to do to persuade Republican primary voters that his form of principled Republican conservatism can trump the nativist populism that is fueling Republican voters antipathy towards Washington insiders. These same Republicans still give the President a 74% approval rating in Arizona, said Chuck Coughlin, President & CEO of HighGround Public Affairs, which conducted the poll.

The RNC will pull out all the stops and throw money at this one. It’s time to donate to her people.
DRAIN THE SWAMP!!!!
Just have to say that I love your screen name. I remember someone here (maybe you?) said that Bammy reminded him/her of CG when he first hit the scene. LOL.
Obama was dumber than a box of rocks, yet all the fools (libs) thought he was the second coming.
Flake, like McCain, doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.
I think there is a lot in a name. Don’t you agree, Jeff?
Flake, like McCain, doesn’t know when to keep his mouth shut.
Is that who the Democrats are running? An open, admitted socialist who has written articles for Communist Party publications?
Waste of money. It isn’t going to work first of all and those millions of dollars would be far better spent, oh, say, attacking Debbie Stabenow, Bill Nelson, Claire McCaskil, etc. Attacking Kelli Ward doesn’t improve Flake’s huge negative popularity rating. These attacks just cause us to be more likely to lose the seat by driving up Dr. Ward’s negatives as well.
he has actually kicked his own.
the RNC is not involved. Trump installed his own leadership in the RNC.
The NRSC could be another story - the members of the NRSC are the incumbent GOP Senators - which would include Flake.
Flake is unhumane or is not a very nice person at all.
Get this: Flake’s son a year ago June owned a kennel to board dogs. Under his care 23 dogs died by dehydration. Lack of care, perhaps?
Families, of course, sued because of the awful deaths of their beloved animals.
There was a court date set. The families whose animals had died were told or sent a letter indicating the court date had been changed. They did not show up for the original court date.
But Flake’s son showed up on the original court date, and without any complainants there, he just walked right out the courtroom doors. No fines. No families to face. Obviously no guilt.
Now who do you think set that up? What judge would have allowed 23 families to not be able to face the killer of their beloved animals?
Makes you think somebody may have been helped by his daddy, eh?
So, my vote is against Flake ever holding any governmental office, especially a dog catcher.
Me, to, save ferris. I was sewing through that two-hour prime time Capone show. At least by brain did not end up being cheese, just cheese curds.
Couldn’t happen to a bigger a-hole.

Update, from Miss Slippy and I: Austin Flake has decided to sue Joe Arpaio for this. I think this is great, because this will strip the media veneer they've been using to protect Jeff Flake. Flake Jr. is suing Arpaio, claiming the charges filed for the 23 dead dogs is politically motivated, but the facts of the case, as Slip laid out, will now become public. The world will find out Flake pulled strings with the County Prosecutor to get his kid off, and whatever political future he had is now toast.
Flake's kid murdered 23 dogs, and has gotten off scot-free. That has to end now. Start of the trial is December5, I predict this gets dropped that day like a hot potato.
BTW, we are both AZ voters. It matters.
