No, Obama sent a lot of troops into Afghanistan - a huger surge. All to fight for a victory that’s impossible. I guess we will just keep making the same mistake again and again.

Obama sent troops in with their hands tied behind their backs... because he knew it would demoralize us. Trump's not doing that.
Also, Obama's global strategy was to give Muslims more power... his goal in Egypt, Libya, Syria (and eventually Europe/USA) was to get a radical Islamic caliphate up and running to counter our evil Western culture.
Trump's not doing that either.
I think he handcuffed them so they could not do anything. He was good at pretending to do things he had no intention of doing.
Check out the deaths of our military in Afghanistan under him. Many were murdered by Afghans they were supposed to be assisting. Most were not killed pursuing terrorists, they died because they were sitting ducks if an Afghan they were working with got sudden jihad syndrome.
