We originally went into Afghanistan to get Osama Bin Laden for September 11th, 2001. That has been accomplished.
I am still a strong President Trump supporter, but I did not vote for this.

When was that accomplished?
Why did that one thing alone take so long, why was Bin Laden there in the first place, why did we have to go to war to get at Bin Laden, and who would easily let another Bin Laden act as he did from Afghanistan? One thing answers all three of those questions - the Taliban. They were integral to why Afghanistan and Bin Laden were related, and they remain as such a potential today. They were inseparable then and they are still.
I find your rationale too simplistic for the real world.
