You sound like a malcontent to me. If he'd declared we were pulling out of Afghanistan, you'd probably find a problem with that too.
I agree that 44 was a disaster and I don’t want either the strategy or tactics announced. However, I do want the objective/goal clearly announced. You are welcome to trust anyone you want. Like Reagan said, “Trust but verify.”
If he had pulled out of Afghanistan I would have cheered for promise made and promise kept. More importantly, we still have the option of bombing the bad guys by our drone pilots from Creech airforce base rather than getting shot at in Kandahar.
You seem to be oblivious to the various interests that want to keep the war going.....they have neither America’s true security nor its political prestige at heart....it is just a cynical marketing wrapper to keep the $50 billion/year gravy train flowing....
