If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the last year it’s that Trump is always playing 4D chess.
Bannon has never done anything that made me think he was stupid.
Now step back and think about what Bannon just did. He went and gave an on the record interview with a hyper-Leftist journalist. He said all sorts of things that were clearly out of line with Trump and even seemed to treat Trump as irrelevant - as if Bannon was calling the shots and not the President.
He played the exact character the Left and the GOP claimed he was.
Why would Bannon do that?
No. This was an act. The character he portrayed would NEVER be stupid enough to make such a mistake. The successful, diabolical mastermind of politics he appeared as to his interviewer would never give such an interview! I mean, seriously? He’s going to walk straight to the most lefty journalist he can find and tell him all his plans for political domination? Really? No. Bannon and Trump knew they needed to make a change to get some of the heat off. So, Bannon gathered up as much heat and attention as he could, like a magnet picking up metal shavings, and Trump cast him away.
The Left invested a huge amount of time and money into portraying Bannon as an uber racist, White Nationalist, fascist alt-righter who was corrupting the White House.
And now he’s gone. And they need to switch to a new tactic.
Some people are saying they’re jumping off the Trump train because of Bannon’s firing.
That seems wrong to me.
I don’t recall voting for Steve Bannon.
