I like it.

Surely the monument is being disrespected, but it is not being destroyed.

I’m just surprised the Daughters of the Confederacy was bothering to put up this monument in 1961. In Arizona, of all places.

There was a battle Near Picacho during the Civil War. A Union Cavalry Detachment ambushed a Company of Rebel soldiers from Texas. The Rebels were part of the ill fated unit that attempted to take New Mexico for the Confederacy.
After the Battle of Glorieta Pass north of Santa Fe this unit headed into Arizona to stir up trouble. Didn’t turn out well for them at Picacho either.
