The congressional calendar is jammed. There are serious doubts that there's room for all the legislation that's lined up waiting for a vote.
... There are just 12 days before the end of September, when the House and Senate are in session together. In those 12 days, Congress has to pass a budget and a debt ceiling extension. That's surely very difficult.
Now throw in the Republican Party walking away from the Republican president. That is what's happening. And the chances of getting a budget, debt ceiling, health care, tax cuts and infrastructure done this year are surely slim and none.

Both parties are doing their best to trash the Donald as he look with disdain on them both as big gub mint A-holes and wants to drastically cut their funds.
GOPe can kiss my ass if they think they’ll get my vote ever again unless they get behind our president.
Shows how tough the GOP is, huh?
Cruz, Paul and Trump have far more in common with each other than they do with GOPe.
That strategy has been tried for 30 yrs. and the result-—nothing. They are still the cheese eating surrender monkeys of political parties.
They are in cahoots with the Democrats and are treated like dirt when the Democrats are in control and they thank the Dems for beating and berating them daily. When they luck up and actually win control of some government entity they run around like the crazy uncle who uses speed and doesn’t know he is in this world all the while asking the Democrats, tell us what to do, we are stupid and scared.
The Republican Party stands for nothing and they fall for everything the Democrats trot out. How do you save a party that by it’s own admission is stupid and cowardly? Why would you even try?
In the mid-terms the pu$$y GOP will retain the house but lose a ton of seats. They will either pick up a couple of seats in the senate or barely lose the senate when they could pick up 10-12 seats if they behaved like a real political party. In mid-terms your base makes or breaks you and right now the Republican base has no reason to lift a finger for the GOP.
Republicans understand that you can succeed in a negotiation only if you are willing to walk away from it. A Republican president will insist on parity in trade and stand ready to implement countervailing duties if other countries refuse to cooperate.
They don't ever read their own platform.
It's backfiring big time on them. America is really seeing just how stupid it is to focus on vandals tearing down statues and politicians giving in to violent threats as they run like scared chickens to erase history.
We only won the right to fight in November and now its up to us too to pressure and push out of office all GOP incumbents and replace them with solid Trump conservatives.
I will not support any GOP that goes against MY president...
Throw in Trump vetoing the debt ceiling if his tax reform and/or infrastructure legislation is not included...
Thanks for noting your catch. It might have gone over the heads of many. One day seems like the next in these times.
Yep. He can call it the “American Party”
