I would suggest this. The first movie came out in 2006...eleven years ago. At that point, maybe 80-percent of the public believed in the gimmick.

2017? I don’t think you will find more than 35-percent of the public who truly believe the hype.

I also think the college crowd have seen the South Park manbearpig episode a number of times, and they mostly laugh over the whole topic now.

I think more people believe it now. Because big business promotes it relentlessly and shuns anyone who speaks against it.

‘An Inconvenient Truth’ opened in theaters in the U.S. on January 24, 2006. Entire school classes were bussed in to see the movie. This sequel came out on August 4, when schools are not in session. Without the captive audience, the film did poorly.
