Raiders coach Jack Del Rio told SFGate.com that Lynch's disrespectful behavior is not an issue for the football team.
He said, This is something I have done for 11 years. Its not a form of anything other than me being myself, Del Rio said. I told him I very strongly believe in standing for the national anthem. But I respect him as a man and he can do his thing."
Well, that doesn't speak very well of Coach Del Rio's character either. The coach respects a man who disrespects the country?
I suspect this will not be the last episode of anti-American activity at NFL games. So I recommend head coaches take immediate action to deter such behavior.
If you ride the bench during the Star-Spangled Banner, you should ride the bench for the rest of season.
It would be a gutsy move -- but unlikely -- considering the lack of courage and patriotism in the National Football League.

Looks like my Sundays are free another year.
Me neither. Time for a new league. Bring the AFL back.
I'll stick with Montana high school football
No NFL for me until these snowflakes stand for our anthem.
If people would just quit buying tickets, sponsored products, and watching the games . . . . .
>>The NFL is dead to me.<<
Amen!
I’m sure that after the minorities/minority destroy football, these bro’s can find worthwhile employment picking up litter at the sides of freeways.
Nobody cares who wins except the NFL Marketers who control the rules of the game.
I am very much heartened by all those FReepers who put principle and respect for our country above giving their money to support those who show blatant disrespect for thhis. (still) great land of ours.
Man, if I was making millions for 16 weeks worth of work, 4 hours a day, I’d be protesting the USA as well.
Racist POS country. /s
It’s not just that, but continually having idiots like Ezekiel Elliot represent the league, just makes it something I no longer care to be a part of.
We have the ability to turn the channel and watch something other than these rich ingrates.
When folks continue to turn the nfl off and their tv revenues fall, maybe the nfl will take note and do some damned thing until then, the hell with the nfl.
Brady’s incredible march to victory was truly a Patriotic victory against the NFL jackwagons. And the crowd made it clear that Goodell was indeed the ultimate jackass.
One thing for sure is that the NFL is going to lose still more revenue if they keep tainting their entertainment product by indulging the distorted, extremist views of their most ignorant players. These players can't even coherently state what it is they're protesting.
Ultimately, this will hurt player salaries. Less revenue means a smaller piece of the pie for everyone...
Bench rude players or lose patriotic fans. The NFL has made their choice, and real Americans are making our choice. So be it.
:-)...the NFL doesn’t have the guts to bench unpatriotic players...but I have the guts to turn off the TV and bench the NFL like I did last year.
The owners need to issue a new policy that says you are welcome to your beliefs and can take any action you want but if you tarnish the product and disrespect our paying fans then you’re contract will no longer be honored and you can exercise your freedoms some place else besides on the field that provided you and your family millions of dollars. Good luck!
And you will have lots of company.
I don’t believe MLB has any league rules about the anthem. Individual teams have rules, some very strict.
The players from foreign countries and the Americans from white suburbia mostly behave as if they are fortunate instead of bitter. And MLB players remind each other of that.
Very true, but I can send the whole NFL back to the locker room with my remote control.
