President Donald Trump denounced hate groups at the White House on Monday, responding to critics of his response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virgina surrounding an alt-right rally.
Racism is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including the KKK, Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, and other hate groups that are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans, Trump said.
The president made his remarks in the Diplomatic Reception Room at the White House after meeting with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and the FBI Director Chris Wray.
Trump specifically named Heather Heyer, the 32-year-old woman killed during the protests after a reported Nazi sympathizer drove his car into a crowd of counter protesters.
We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence, he said.

ya’ll need to chill, and go listen to Sessions, who can’t be much clearer. There’s more than one way to explain how to skin a gopher; doesn’t always have to be the Big Guy.
“We’re going to protect the right to assemble and march. And we’re going to prosecute anybody, to the full extent of the law, that violates their ability to do so.” Attny Gen’l Jeff Sessions, Aug 14, 2017
I just hope when 2020 rolls around you vote for someone else instead of Trump. Maybe Jeff Flake or Kasich more suits you.
we preach rugged individualism
by definition if you judge people as individuals you cannot be judging them by an unselected group which would be their race
(this is different than judging somebody on the group they choose to belong to on the company they keep)
racism is inconsistent with the philosophy of the individual an individual Merit

As the President of all the nation, I don't see anything wrong with the above statement. If some you want off the Trump train because of that, then jump off, but ensure you roll and careful not to break your legs.
I just came from Huffpoo. Headline: TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.
That’s why it’s a trap. There is not one thing he could say or do.
I only saw part of speech though. No mention of Anitfa?
If not, it was incomplete.
They are so predictable.
That’s a good point. If Trump complained publicly about Antifa, he’d have to also explain who Antifa was. Rotsa ruck getting that by the lyin’ news gantlet. He could tweet it out, but that would be arduous. He’s got to play the political capital he’s got. Not what he wishes he might have.
I think it’s time for the right to fight in publicly visible print.
He also said that everyone who perpetrated violence would be held to account for what they have done, so I have a feeling that there are more people to be charged in coming days.
Yes... let’s not set our hair on fire yet. Leave the lighters in the drawer. This might be the chance for Antifa to be outed, and not in a good way. Praying to God would be quite appropriate here.
Where’s Rodney King when you need him?
Then get of my Effin train looser!!!
Six feet under.
Maybe all the swastikas?
The devil is in the details of the “other hate groups.”
Is it coming time for the BLM and Antifa involvement in such things (and/or even more richly, the Soros behind them) to be outed? To united American scorn?
I am praying hard, hard, hard that it is. Maybe this lack of specific mention is a suckering move on Trump’s part. The left won’t hunker down, it will gloat, and it will be reaped by the reaper. He does play the 4D chess... let’s see where the pieces go.
Perhaps not to taint an investigation? The white racists were at least legal.
I thought they were opening a civil rights investigation. That doesn’t have to do with race but the denial of civil rights to someone or someones.
He said white supremacist, not white nationalists.
Exactly. There’s no excuse for him to omit BLM and the antifa groups. I’m very disappointed in him for caving.
From the start he blamed both sides.
