On Don Baylor:

My first wife was from Massachusetts and when I was stationed in Wash DC we used to go up to watch the Red Sox play in Memorial Stadium in Baltimore.

This was in 1986 when the Red Sox were very good and went to the World Series (only to lose to the Mets after they had it *almost* in the bag!). Don Baylor then played for Boston and was one of the big reasons they did so well that year.

So I can say I watched Don Baylor play in Baltimore BUT it was with another team!

Heh.

Great little anecdote.

Baylor was an Oriole during my years as a rabid fan....although I still am now.

Gosh....and Memorial Stadium.....I once worked right around the corner from there, when Baltimore was a decent town.

You must be referring to that useless Red Sox first basemen who let the world Series winning out roll, roll I tell you, between his legs.

The curse of the Bambino was strong back then

Hey we got Christian Yelich and our current rock star home run king Giancarlo Stanton with the Marlins.
If we get any better we will be playing .500 ball... Our greatest player is off the field. He's Rich Waltz the greatest announcer alive. He makes every game worth watching no matter what the score.
