FOX NEWS - Retired Gen. Tom McInerney on Monday said the United States has the capability to take out every city in North Korea, if Kim Jong Un were to fire artillery into Seoul, South Korea.
If he gets our full nuclear retaliatory capability, within minutes after one round going into Seoul, there will be nothing left, McInerney told Liz Claman on Countdown to the Closing Bell. If you go to Airborne Alertwe used to call it Chrome Domewith nuclear weapons and then we start building up our other forces, et cetera, he will not last 15 minutes.
The Hermit Kingdom announced Monday it will take thousands-fold revenge against the United States after the United Nations imposed new sanctions on the communist country on Saturday. The resolution, approved unanimously by the Security Council on Saturday, comes as a result of Pyongyangs repeated ballistic missile tests and efforts to develop a nuclear warhead. The sanctions are aimed at the countrys economy, including stopping the expansions of joint ventures and the exports of coal, lead, lead ore, iron, iron ore and seafood.....

Of course, we need to act.
We can do a lot more on sanctions.
All this shooting talk just makes NK laugh. NK is playing us and we are falling for it.
It could be done in less than a minute with stealth and smart mirvs.
Why would Red China throw away 40 years of modernization and increased trade just to save a tiny country? Who will feed the hundreds of millions of Chinese thrown out of work?
“The B61 nuclear bomb is the primary thermonuclear gravity bomb in the U.S. Enduring Stockpile following the end of the Cold War. It is a low to intermediate-yield strategic and tactical nuclear weapon featuring a two-stage radiation implosion design.[1]
The B61 is of the variable yield (”dial a yield”) design with a yield of 0.3 to 340 kilotons in its various mods. “
Does no one remember the 'Mouse That Roared'?
What is the NK situation right now? Starving population, totally dependent on an unreliable neighbor for money/food/everything; complete suppression of original thought so no chance of a creative solution internally; etc.
A casual read of Americas involvement in wars will show anyone that once we drop a bomb or shoot some bullets and the adversary surrenders America goes all gooey and wants to rebuild and help out to right the 'wrong' of war.
Any benefit here for NK to provoke an armed response? Free lunch for life, anyone?
Just say'n
Agreed. It's not as if they are enemies with South Korea.
maybe 4 minutes from nearby subs. conus missiles would need more time just because, well, physics.
Yes, I mentioned “The Mouse That Roared” as well, and it makes more and more sense.
My Filipina wife agrees. She sees them here in the Philippines, but they are dubbed into Tagalog.
To win the battle might have been to lose the war. We never let the military have its own head. That was constitutionally forbidden. Better that a president could call it short than to have the guy who only has a hammer treat every problem as a nail.
Our problem is now, not then. A mad man is there who is not merely content to make his own country miserable.
well russia and china havent done squat to help and japan sends radiation our way every damn day.
Good points.
NK economically is doing much better lately. They ship a lot of labor to Chinese factories in Manchuria that are essentially slaves. Most of their wages get sent to the Chinese embassy in Pyongyang and handed over to the NK government.
The government then takes most of the money and sends about 20% to the workers’ families.
Next time you go to a $ store, made in China could be made by NK slave labor.
NK is also sending the same bonded labor to a number of other countries to get foreign currency.
Well, for worse or better by worldly standards, that is a Christian ideal.
Maybe Kim really is saying “Blow me down and pick me up.”
There isn't much else up to the Yalu River:
That’s kind of chilling if China is doing that. Not everything is even as relatively free as in Beijing.
MacArthur was right about a lot of things. Patton too.
...and there’s even more of them in Seoul.
Years ago there was talk about kinetic bombardment weapons. ..tungsten rods dropping from orbit or delivered by ICBM that strike with the force of a large meteorite. Perfect weapon to take out Little Kim
