Hahahaha...I’ll bet the dog loved that...liver probably tasted like steak to him!
When I was in the USN, they would occasionally serve steak at sea. they were circular in shape, about six inches across. Not great steak, but...I used to put a couple of pats of butter on them to give some moisture to them because they were always overcooked, but...steak was steak!
One day, I went down to the crew mess, and they had steaks! So I put one on my tray, sat down and sawed off a piece. It was EXTREMELY dry, and bone white. When I put it in my mouth, it was disgusting...
Not steak. Liver.
The company that supplied them probably used the exact same thing to cut them into disks as the steak. Same size. Looked the same from the outside.
I left off one thing.
After the Dog died (probably from Beef Liver Poisoning), I was in a quandary. Then I noticed the Heating System Grate on the floor next to the TV.
A couple of years later my Parents had the entire HVAC System replaced. The HVAC guy found some Fossilized Beef Liver inside the Duct Work and I was busted when my Mother and Father confronted me with the Evidence.
I should have insisted that my Parents buy us another Dog as soon as the first one died. LOL
