John McCain, typically a supporter of a hawkish foreign policy, told KTAR radio Tuesday that President Trump's threat to rain "fire and fury" down on North Korea was a mistake:
"I take exception to the President's comments because you gotta be able to do what you say you're gonna do...In other words, the old walk softly but carry a big stick, Teddy Roosevelt's saying, which I think is something that should've applied because all it's going to do is bring us closer to a serious confrontation. I think this is very, very, very serious The great leaders I've seen don't threaten unless they're ready to act and I'm not sure President Trump is ready to act...It's the classic Trump in that he overstates things."
That position was shared by Former Defense Secretary William J. Perry, who tweeted "Nuclear deterrence is only effective if threats are deemed credible, bluster hurts our national security posture."

The hatred the establishment has for US and for him is beyond nauseating. The fact is, Trump could say ANYTHING or NOTHING and McLoser would attack him.
Retire, John. You are beyond worthless.
I really wish he’d died in Vietnam.
McCain needs an M-80 shoved up his azz for some fire and fury.
McLame...
Live long And Prosper!

My first smile of the day. Thank you! :)
go croak McCain
you are a traitor to your Party and an embarrassment
to our nation
I think McCain's plan is to remain in the senate until his bitter end and they have to wheel his rotting carcass out on a gurney. Which from the looks of it, should be sometime soon.
Trump’s going to have to make an example of one of these senators.
Maybe this is a situation he and his UniParty of Criminal Government friends can no longer get rich off of, therefore the sour grapes.
Oh right. This coming from Mr. Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran. What an idiot!
Thank God McCain never became President!
And he knows this how?
Trump has kept his word on everything he has said.
I despise John McCain with every fiber of my body.
But Trump shouldn’t have got into a threat tit for tat like that.
Just ignore him.
He is still a year and a half from room temperature, but maybe he can be tried and executed for treason before that.
Trump was saying, that Kim has been quite aggressive (at least in his speech) toward America.
More than he needs to be.
Trump was telling Kim to cool the rhetoric. I’m not sure whether Kim will oblige Trump, but it needed to be said, and he said it. We are close to a confrontation.
Someone needs to speak up, and Trump is the right person.
McCain really, really, really needs to shut up, and treat his illness.
Please stop second guessing, our President.
This POS hasn’t done a thing about the Mexican invasion though. His intention is to give them amnesty after the summer break and be the leader to make it happen. Mcturtle head needs to rein in this bunch of traitors.
Someone (Team Yurtle) has to call McCain out...NOW!
1. Why does “fire and fury” have to equate to nuclear? it could simply mean a significant targeted action or even one using the MOAB again.
2. Trump is fully ready to use any of these other options, and since the norks aren’t dealing with anyone like McCain or Obama, they know that there really is nothing off the table when it comes to a US response.
3. As soon as Trump says anything negative about McCain the media will now somehow find a way to say that he was mocking a cancer patient.
