A Virginia high sent a disturbing letter to parents and students announcing they would be selecting students for Advanced Placement and honors classes at least partly based on skin color, a concerned parent told Fox News.
Martin Luther King, Jr. must be turning over in his grave.
A parent forwarded me a copy of the letter sent from John Handley High School in Winchester.
“Through our collective work, advanced classes such as AP and Honors will have proportional representation,” read the letter. “Proportional representation is 40% White, 35% Hispanic, 12% African American, 10% mixed race.”
The letter went on to explain that public schools across the country “continue to see outcomes that are disproportionate by race and social class.”
“American demographic trends indicate that America will be a majority minority nation in the next 25 years,” the letter read. “Therefore, the new work of American public schools is to develop systems to address disparate outcomes.”
Interesting -- I thought the work of American public schools was to teach kids how to read, write, multiply and divide.
A school district spokesperson reached out to me and strongly denied that they have any policies dictating racial quotas for advanced courses.

Liberal teachers-putting the “duh” in “duhgree”.
When this handout is done, and it is a handout, to a culture that has come to absolutely expect them, then employers will suffer as they are now. They simply will not be able to hire qualified candidates and our competitive edge against the world (in particular, China) will be lost.
All because of the suicidal political correctness.

And when the selected student fall behind and don’t do very well in these more advanced classes then what?
Why do parents still have their kids in the government schools? I don’t care what kind of sacrifice it takes, put the kids in private school or teach them at home. One of the reasons the left is so keen on universal pre-school and government run daycare is to start propagandizing the kiddies as early as possible. The increase in taxes to pay for that also forces more moms into the workforce. The entire system is geared towards raising little statists. Get you kids out.

There’s a difference between a goal and the means to get to the goal.
Wonder what the parents of Indian and Asian students will do. They are not usually so vocal on these matters.
Thankfully that can NEVER HAPPEN at the public school which my children attend. NEVER!!!
Why? Because MY PUBLIC SCHOOLS is staffed by men and women who just love children, and would NEVER do anything to harm the prospects of white and Asian children, why NEVER!
It only happens at THOSE SCHOOLS, the ones in those hick towns, like in Virginia, but it can NEVER HAPPEN in my public schools because they are just so wonderful and caring.

I don’t expect they will. Khan Academy is the “class” part, and the AP exam itself is how the credits (or placement) are earned.
think that all they need to do is get a college degree participation trophy and they will make millions.
A giverment job completes the equation and real working people pay for it all.
Most teachers are liberal unionists, led by socialist union bosses.
