I have enjoyed Glen Campbell always, but had no idea that this was his recording. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the link to Alice’s interview. Very touching.
What an odd pairing for friendship. LOL! But they were obviously close.

I was just looking back through some Glen Campbell posts for some video links I might have missed.
You’re tried this football lineman joke over 10 times and it fell flat every time.
Just stop. It doesn’t work.
To: FLNittany
Not a joke. Listen to the lyrics.

Was he the singer who came down with alzheimer disease.

What do the lines “and I drive the main line”, “Searching in the sun for another overload” and “If it snows that stretch down south will never stand the strain” have to do w/ football?
Answer: NOTHING.
To: heights
What a nice thought!
Thank you.

What do the lines “and I drive the main line”, “Searching in the sun for another overload” and “If it snows that stretch down south will never stand the strain” have to do w/ football? It's actually "and I drive the main road." Our protagonist is an offensive lineman seeking to "drive the main road" by opening holes in the offensive front line for his tailback.
"Searching in the sun for another overload"--our protagonist is on the lookout for the defense overloading the line, say, by moving a safety forward.
"If it snows, that stretch down south will never stand the strain." A "stretch" is a pass-oriented offensive formation, and snowy conditions would hamper the passing game.
