When someone is shot in Sacramento, it’s a good bet that one of about 50 mostly black or Latino young men pulled the trigger.
Police know it. Community members know it.
DeVone Boggan knows it, too. In Richmond, where he runs an anti-gun violence program called Advance Peace, he has befriended 84 men considered most likely to kill with a gun there.
The truth about gun crimes, said Boggan, is that a small number of known shooters cause an outsize amount of trauma. They can be hard to catch, he said, and few have tried to reach them with anything but enforcement.
Every shooter in Boggan’s program in Richmond has been shot or had a family member shot. “Gun violence typically breeds gun violence, because it’s cyclical and retaliatory,” he said.
He said the violence often has less to do with organized gangs than it does personal rivalries and neighborhood cliques. “We’ve got beefs around respect issues, historical beefs,” Boggan said.
Boggan said shooters are kids who grew up in “atmospheric trauma” and “chaos” every day, and often go minute-to-minute fearing for their safety and the safety of loved ones.

If money and mentoring fail, you could always declare a “Don’t Nobody Shoot Anybody” weekend. It’s worked every time it’s been tried except for one time.
If Giuliani or a serious person like him were the mayor of Sacramento, the problem would have been solved quickly. However when Democrats are in charge and the violence is almost exclusively minority on minority, they don’t do much to stop it. Chicago is the prototypical example.
Just ask them nicely...you’d be surprised how well kindness works. You want proof? Well, there’s Baltimore this past weekend with their “Aint nobody gunna shoot nobody” success.
What about shooting them?
Remove these 50 from the streets, see if crime drops.
50 bullets cost about $10.
If the claim of fifty men is correct, then publish pictures of them and place a bounty on them.
Bounties worked before and can work again.

Just as an example to anybody else who would attempt such a way of life.
It is not the size of the jail, it is the size of the legal corps who are dedicated to keeping as many miscreants out of jail as they can argue before sometimes very compliant and/or lenient judges.
Prosecution fails, not the law enforcement aspect.
I remember reading fifty years ago, some policeman saying he could stop 99% of all crime in their big city if he was allowed to permanently “remove” about 90 people.

How many police officers are employed by the taxpayers of Sacramento? Surely they should be able to find something on 50 criminals so they can lock them up & get them off the streets....unless they don’t want to.

I will bet money that the same metrics are true for every city in the country. But the Liberals say:”The solution to gun crime is to take all of them away from people who never cause a problem and only have them for self-protection!” Maybe it’s time for “vigilante justice?” I don’t think it would be a big problem to get the”cop’s lists” and “take appropriate measures!” When the “eliminations” started, you would soon see massive “come to Jesus meetings” in the appropriate “communities!” When the “ferral hunters” become the “hunted,” the change would be dramatic.
