California Labor Commissioner Julie Su has ordered state employees to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from entering the departments offices without a warrant.
According to the Sacramento Bee, Su issued the directive last month, ostensibly to protect illegal aliens reporting employee abuse at the hands of employers.
One Democrat Assemblyman from San Francisco is pushing it one step, further the Bee reports, proposing a law to limit ICE accesses to workplaces:
The atmosphere of fear created by Trump and ICEs expanded dragnet hurt all California workers, said Assemblyman David Chiu, D-San Francisco, who sponsored the bill that would restrict immigration enforcement at workplaces. We have to do everything we can to fight back, and its great to see our labor commissioner taking a stand against the small minority of unscrupulous employers who are illegally retaliating against their employees.

California can leave, Jefferson can stay. Give some of the inland counties the option of joining Jefferson or forming their own state.
This way JimRob doesn’t have to move.
So, bring a warrant. Or the SWAT team. Whichever works best. Arrest any lib who doesn’t cooperate.
If the government doesn’t have to obey the law, why do any of us?
Exactly.
“What happens if the spigot is turned off? “
The rest of the country gets inundated with CA dregs.

The two don't necessarily go together.
So the California government wants the entire USA to abide by thier green agenda and social engineering and have the USG to enforce those laws. By denying the federal government laws is quite the legal pickle and grounds for loss of federal funding. It happened when liberal states tried to bar military recruitment in high schools and colleges so it could happen under this administration for the unemployment funding.
