During a Saturday discussion about Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) potentially running for president on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” host Joy Reid asked her panel if the United States of America was going to be the last country in the West to elect a woman as president.

Joy misses the point this last election was not about male or female. It was about competence and rightness to lead. Trump proved himself more successful against 18 competitors, 16 of them male, two female—Clinton and Fiorina. Once a credible female is proposed, she’ll win if she is more credible than her competitors. Anyone trying to say Clinton lost because of gender is simply playing bias games. The only bias here was that Clinton was not wanted by people living in 83% or more of the counties across the US.

There are two ways to elect a woman president. One is to elect a woman with a credible record of achievement as a governor, senator, major business executive, etc., and who runs on a mainstream platform speaking to the major issues facing the country. This woman would very likely be a Republican, probably of the moderate center-right variety, and she would be attacked by the left in the most vicious terms imaginable.

Or, we can elect a woman president as a token whose candidacy is based on identity politics, packed with lockstep, militant devotion to the current SJW agenda across all fronts. This woman would be a democrat. She will be hailed by the media as the country's best chance to right an ancient wrong and as someone only a misogynist bigot could oppose.

I hope the GOP comes up with option A before the Democrats succeed in electing option B.

Joy is a typical liberal who totally misses the point. Sex has nothing to do with being elected, especially since everyone seems intent on degrading men. Thankfully we elected Trump based on his opponent’s dismal record of success and even less character than him. It is my belief that a right of center female candidate would win handily in an election. Hope to see that proven before my days end.

Someone like that, if elected, would just further hasten the downfall of the whole thing. Her Indian-citizen parents make her a foreigner, no more a Natural Born Citizen than any anchor baby. Her parents were NOT American citizens.
