NEW YORK (AP) Weary Republicans in Washington may be ready to move on from health care, but conservatives across the United States are warning the GOP-led Congress not to abandon its pledge to repeal the Obama-era health law or risk a political nightmare in next years elections.
The Senates failure this past week to pass repeal legislation has outraged the Republican base and triggered a new wave of fear. The stunning collapse has exposed a party so paralyzed by ideological division that it could not deliver on its top campaign pledge.
After devoting months to the debate and seven years to promising to kill the Affordable Care Act, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., simply said: Its time to move on.

GOP-E should be more afraid of Trump taking a pen to their own staff’s health care.
Trump makes us all equal, the outcry of support will make all the lobbyist whores nervous.
Correcto.....the slime in the Senate will try to say...”but I voted for the repeal” knowing all along it would fail. We need fighters!!!
Nope. It's time for Zero's Bitch Mitch to move out of the Senate. Either lead and deliver for this President or get the f*** out of the way for someone who can.
Put Congress under Obamacare.
We are talking only 4 or 6 Senators, and only one is up for re-election.
My prediction . . . August 2018 . . . Robert Mueller leaks (discloses) that President Trump is being investigated for money laundered from Russia in the sale of property in 1998.
That’s true but he can also cut off bailouts to the insurance companies, the law suit started by the congress claiming Obama did not have authority to spend taxpayer money for bailouts only congress has spending authority was won in May.
Trump has continued making those payments on a monthly basis, but he can cut them off tomorrow if he chooses, the only reason he hasn’t to date is he was using it as leverage to get the repeal, the democrats called his bluff and said,go ahead cut off the money,we will blame you for people losing their healthcare.
President Trump has now tweeted today that if they don’t get this repeal passed he IS going to cut off the funds
I have no doubt you’re right, but then I look for a judge to say he can’t cut the payments off. This is no longer a nation ruled by laws.
>>The stunning collapse has exposed a party so paralyzed by ideological division that it could not deliver on its top campaign pledge.<<
WRONG!!! It is NOT “ideological division”, it is F* Trump. Courts have ruled that the President can be punished for what he said on the campaign trail. They took great pains to say that this is not a blanket repudiation. BS; they set precedent. Lawsuits against every politician who voted against the repeal. Make them pay.
What makes anyone think that they won't screw up the next issue they turn to?
I have tweeted this exact thing 4 times over the last couple weeks. Congress should NOT be exempt from what they make us suffer with.
Had the same thought. What’s been exposed is the swamp republicans are governed by special interests and politics and not by their platform principles or promises to constituents.
I’m not ready to give up, but I do want more pressure on the corrupt insiders. If they want to keep their comfortable jobs, fine, but they need to deliver. If they can’t repeal in one grand bill, I’m okay with that. Repeal Obamacare line by line or page by page. Vote on one bill at a time to remove each of the unpopular requirements in that terrible law.
With the media's help, Congressional GOP will simply blame any midterm losses on President Trump.
Not very smart, they all are. Your done my friends done! So sick of their selfish arrogant ways, NOW WE NEED TERM LIMIT SIGNED INTO LAW!
Hey...that's good!
All those bitches are multi-multi millionaires.
I can tell you the exact reason why McCain voted against it. It can be summed up in twenty words: Hes not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who werent captured. McCain has been waiting since November to get even for that. He will let the entire country go to hell if need be in order to exact his revenge. He is a small and petty man.
It wouldn’t surprise me one bit that the GOP is deliberately plotting to lose the senate and maybe the house, their hatred of Trump and his agenda are that intense. They would do anything to derail Trump’s effort to put America first.
It is easier to not be in charge. I think your theory is correct.
