I stayed in two hotels in the Province of Quebec last weekend, both of which had charging stations for electric cars (Quebec is a socialist mini France that is always the first Canadian province to embrace the latest leftist fad). Between the two hotels there were 14 charging stations. And not a single one was being used.

People in northern climes don’t want to get stuck on the side of the rad when it is -30 deg. F.

I remember back in the early 2000’s how many people were whining and bitching about dark fiber that would never be used.

I believe that. Whenever I have to drive downtown (Chicago) I never see any of the charging stations in the parking garage I use in use by an electric vehicle.
I have seen plenty of Tesla Model S', Toyota Prius' and Ford CMAX vehicles in downtown Chicago, never seen one on a charger.

I wonder, do they add the cost of the electricity to your hotel bill, or is it independent of that?

This is great news for the environment--no electricity was being wasted! :-)
