But are you aware that Mac urged Truman to blow up the bridges between China and North Korea to prevent a massive Chinese invasion?

He forgot one of the main military maxims: It is easier to get forgiveness than permission. Do the right thing, then deal with the consequences.

Mac didn’t control the airforce. Truman refused to blow the bridges for several days after the Chinese were attacking US troops as well. Given that Truman lost China by stabbing them in the back, and tried to give northern japan to Russia, I don’t think that was an accident on his part.
