Since DWS didn’t fire Awan back in March like the other dems did, it’s likely he had info that was unique to her, such as dirt related to her term as DNC chair, that he could use to continue extracting money from her.

Three other things:

Most people are missing the fact that the FBI was obviously watching Imran and his wife, as both were caught at the airport and he was arrested and charged with bank fraud. If most of us lied on a home equity loan, all that would happen is the bank could call the loan or sue to recover the money. Clearly the FBI was on alert and used this criminial charge to keep him from leaving the country.

Another thing no one is paying attention to is who Imran send the money to has been redacted from the affadavit. There’s a reason for this. THe Awans owned a dozen houses and over 20 businesses, it takes time to unravel all of this.

And finally, why did Imran decided yesterday was the time to flee to Pakistan? Might he have detected signs that the web was closing in on him, especially after last week’s revelation about the smashed hard drives?

This ain’t over...it’s hardly getting started.

They probably just used the “Bank Fraud” charge to support an emergency arrest warrant since these spies were fleeing the country.

Once you file a charge, speedy trial requirements kick in. If you’re not ready for trial, you lose. The big espionage charges are probably down the road once they firm up their proof.

...it takes time to unravel all of this.

According to the http://nypost.com/2017/03/04/capitol-hill-staffers-probed-for-theft-worked-for-nyc-congressmen/ the Awans first got involved in the People's business when Imran Awan started accessing the U.S. Congressional information network in 2004.

Since the Pakistanis were bottom feeding from the beginning working with Democrats, one could hardly discount the probability the FBI was bugging most of them anyway. I realize bringing charges against numerous Representatives is not as convenient as say, setting up an ambush on a snowy road but holy moly, we're supposed to believe the FBI hasn't kept notes easily transformable into indictments?

I think your "it’s hardly getting started" would read more credibly as "it will hardly get started."
