Interesting is the doctors ‘who created sex reassignment’ surgery concluded it doesn’t work and stopped doing the procedure.
They invented it as a last ditch effort to treat GD, as it is resistant to traditional psychotherapy... Short term results were positive, so they thought it worked. But after following patients long-term, they realized those results were temporary and that sex reassignment surgery was not an appropriate treatment......... Unfortunately, the procedure was by then ‘out there’ and many other doctors now willing to perform it, so it continues.
Mutilation doesn’t cure the disorder. It only hides it.
