"The article points to a meta-analysis of 63 studies that supposedly found religious people tend to be less intelligent than nonreligious people.
According to this study, the association was stronger among college students and the general public than for those younger than college age.
This association likely has a lot to do with education indoctrination.
More intelligent people are more likely to go to college and, as a result, they are frequently exposed to anti-Christian, or at least anti-theism ideas as well as pro-Darwinism beliefs.
The reason has been documented by Stanford Educated Attorney Greg Lukianoff, who is President of an organization fighting censorship in colleges called FIRE.
In short, he found that campus intolerance of free speech and censorship is primarily directed at Christians."
And n 100 years their “brilliance” will be dust and ashes.
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
Why should I be concerned, with the religious beliefs of others in America?
I remember the movie, “Hombre,” with Paul Newman.
The Indian Agent who had stolen much money from the Indians was asked, “Is there a God?” His quick answer was that no, there was no God. But then he was told, “Well, then, surely there can be no Hell.” He responded, “Oh, yes! There is definitely Hell!”
I wonder if he realized the contradiction. ;-)
Then why don’t atheists stop using any science from believers, starting with genetics?
If you do not believe in macro evolution, micro yes but macro no, you might be a red neck..i mean not very smart.
Most atheists are not into science at all, but a bunch of bimbos plastering atheism on their face like they plaster make up so as to further a look of non religious PC social deceptive acceptability despite being brainless
The answer to that question is ‘no’. Next question.
JoMa
not the atheists I’ve run into
The devil is the ‘smartest’ of all God’s creation, look where all that knowledge got him. He rebelled and said he was god, and got a death sentence...
Yeah they’re “smarter” all right!
Psalm 14:1
IQ doesn’t include testing for ability to question one’s own belief system, which is a critical function of the mind. I believe atheists and liberals in general would score low on this particular function.
More important is the fact that IQ doesn’t test for the most important questions of all, the questions of divine existence and the identity of God. As already implied by other posters above.
I know brilliant believers.
I know brainless atheists.
I also know the reverse of those.
For someone like Laura Greggle makes a blanket statement like “...Atheists Generally Smarter Than Religious People?” Exposes their ignorance.....their stupidity.
We’ll find out on Judgment Day, won’t we?
Smart and wise are two different things.
They unite on the rarest occasions.
bkmk
It doesn’t take an intelligent person to understand the futility of proving a negative.
A smaller subset than the general population. Much smaller.
My experience with atheists is that they are not well versed in science but repeat the phrases of their better versed leaders. In many cases, they have no idea of what they are talking about or the downstream effects of their scientific statements. I do.
Smart kids get a lot of reinforcement by family and teachers that may become arrogance as they mature.
Ultimately, it may be simply that they have not been called to Jesus. I prayerfully hope they are called in the future.
No Jerry!
Then there's the whole "Big Bang". Let me get this straight...all the particles of gas and crap out there, swirling around in the universe were compressed and compressed until the pressure made them...explode? Hmmmm. So why don't diamonds explode? After all, they're carbon that's been compressed and compressed, yet they become diamonds, not IEDs.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
