Are you suggesting that Sessions recusal could have been reversed? Do you have a source stating whether the WH was given a heads-up about the decision prior to Sessions going public with his March 2 statement?

I find it hard to believe that Sessions did not discuss it with the WH Counsel, Don McGahn, prior to issuing the statement.
