President Trump and his advisers are privately discussing the possibility of replacing Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and some confidants are floating prospects who could take his place were he to resign or be fired, according to people familiar with the talks. Members of Trumps circle, including White House officials, have increasingly raised the question among themselves in recent days as the president has continued to vent his frustration with the attorney general, the people said.

Its true .
Sessions picked Rosenstein because he thought he needed a Doj insider .
That decision was Sessions and was
just confirmed by John Hindenbacker another Radio host , blogger , and DC lawyer talking a out this mess today on the radio.
Trump let Sessions pick Rosenstein .
Well that was a mistake. Thanks.
“Trump doesnt attack like this only to back off.”
Lock her up?
I don't see that he's backed off on that, especially since he's complaining that AG Sessions isn't investigating her.
Heck, I was waiting for the "lock her up!" chants to start yesterday at the Boy Scout speech!
Does that make it so? I haven't done any careful accounting, but my impression is most people think Trump is serious with his criticism, and on top of that, many think the criticism is well-taken, that Sessions should not have recused, and that doing so was disloyal.
"Most" being more than half, not that there aren't a significant number who feel Trump's tirade isn't serious, i.e., it's made up outrage, fake, a ruse.
I think so too. First of all, expressing concern about Sessions having recused himself from everything isn't what I would call "publicly berating" him... it's just an honest statement of fact.
If Sessions is preparing to shake things up in a big way, its better that he appears to NOT be Trump's best pal. Get all the Dems to boldly support Sessions, then let Sessions fire the swamp thing running the "investigation" and another batch of DOJ swamp creatures.
>> Sessions a decent man but not a fit for The AG position <<
Then you need to talk to him sincerely in private, in order to work out differences. Or maybe you even give him a lush ambassadorial post somewhere, or maybe another prestigious post in DC.
But above all, you certainly shouldn’t trash him again and again in public. Who will wanna get on board the Trump train now, when a loyal supporter like Sessions is treated in this way?
