Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) will return to the Senate on Tuesday after being diagnosed with brain cancer, giving the GOP push to repeal and replace ObamaCare a boost of momentum.
Senator McCain looks forward to returning to the United States Senate tomorrow to continue working on important legislation, including health care reform, the National Defense Authorization Act, and new sanctions on Russia, Iran and North Korea," McCain's office said on Monday evening.
McCain was absent last week after having a blood clot removed from above his left eye, and it was unclear earlier Monday if he would return for the chamber's action on healthcare.
Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the No. 2 Senate Republican, said earlier that McCain was trying to get approval from his doctor. But Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.) didn't "expect" McCain to return.
Republicans are expected to vote to take up the House-passed healthcare bill on Tuesday afternoon. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) will need 50 of the Senate's 52 Republicans to vote "yes" on the initial hurdle.
If McCain hadn't returned, McConnell could only afford to lose one GOP senator on the initial hurdle. With McCain back he can afford to lose two GOP senators and still let Vice President Mike Pence break a tie.
Bump!
He gets his healthcare just like his prison time in Vietnam.
He gets the royal treatment while everyone else has to suck it up and suffer.
Bless his heart
Just like “Teddy”. The Demopukes will roll him in on a stretcher with toe tag for a vote. Typical.
Damn straight. “By any means necessary. ...VIA taxpayer expense.”
Natch.
The McCain team.
Read that John was out hiking with his daughter a few days after his surgery. His daughter later tweeted that a rattlesnake bit him.
He is ok, but the rattlesnake died....
Yeah, unfortunately the bastard lived for another year.
Especially with blood clots. He must be on a blood thinner but that can present a whole different set of problems.

Thanks to CrapCare, I’d be hit with a $6k deductible in addition to $17k annual premium.
C’mon McLame... Just do one for The Gipper (vote correctly for a change).
If I was in his situation I would retire.
He loves attention.
He probably will be doing the Sunday news shows this week.
But, and I say this sincerely, he needs to step down. He's an 80 year old man with an aggressive brain cancer.
This doesn't end well, and Arizona deserves a Senator who isn't engaged in the battle he's facing.
Dear Lord, please let the brain cancer eat away the part of his Maverick brain that always fights conservatism, and let the part that put Sarah Palin in the national spotlight prevail. Amen.
Now he’ll be looking to make some great senatorial speech, something that sounds Churchillian, to start a war with Russia or some damned thing. Please go home and start chemo, already, John. PLEEEEEEASE!
List out the factors to this. A guy eighty years old. Major surgery. Likely hyped on pain-killers. I doubt if he has enough energy to stay focused for more than two hours. They have to go keep him in some rest mode for twenty hours of the day, and just wheel him in to vote, and then return to some office. It’ll be this way for the remainder of the year. His chief of staff is running the function of senator for him....McCain is just a figurehead at this point.
Not just exempt, have seen many comments on him not using VA care...problem there is he is OVER qualified for it.
Even my Ret. SCPO is $$ wise with the caps they have in place. Only his ‘disabilities’ flight deck hearing loss and teeth are a covered disability, otherwise not qualified for VA Care.

Yup. He’ll return to the senate to vote with the other democrats.
Hmm. Those sabers running through his skull might be suggestive ... The hunt is on - for brain tumors!
“AAARRGGHH me Senate mateys! They opened me skull - and found nothing!”
