Marijuana enforcement is a key to getting Dreamers.

Asset forfeiture? What better way to get the Clinton Crime Family Foundation.

Marijuana enforcement is a key to getting Dreamers.

It's also key to losing Millenials as they vote in droves for the opposition.

I hate civil asset forfeiture. They don't even have to prove you are guilty of a crime, and you still get screwed.

Naw, get the Clintons the old-fashioned way. It's a target-rich environment.

There have to be better ways than such fudge. If it were only intended for illegals, that might be different.

A Constitutional way would be better.

Look, I understand that you may be part of the base that could care less about the two gratuitously authoritarian "solutions" above, but you have to understand that there is a tangible segment of Trump's base—including libertarians and other strict constructionists—who are alarmed by this.

It's a fact that Civil Asset Forfeiture has been abused and that it raises real due process questions, and it's also a fact that the federal government is very likely overstepping its Constitutional bounds regarding the marijuana issue as well. Becoming more aggressive on either issue is ludicrous for anyone who truly believes in minimal government, IMHO.

Why give the Left any real ammo with which to accuse the President of being Authoritarian?

Both of the above policies are "out of touch", "old school", and "typical DC", IMHO.

Libertarians and other strict Constitutionalists had enough of an issue with things like Eminent Domain regarding Donald Trump, but if an Authoritarian trend develops towards "solving problems", that's simply the wrong direction. It just smacks of illegitimate "shortcuts" to me, and there's no reason to "go there" in either instance. JMHO.

The administration should address DREAMER and Hillary issues without using policies which go against the grain of the idea of minimal government.

And there's also plenty of potential for the President to expand his base over the next couple of years. These policies can't possibly help with that...
