Calling Sessions a GOPe mole, that’s a bunch of caca.
Frankly, I’ve had it people who don’t know enough to make ignorant comments about the Hon. Jeff Sessions.
He was the first and for a time only major elected official who came out in support of President Trump.
Sessions is precluded from going after Hillary and the CF himself. Doesn’t mean he’s not had other(s) do so.
President Trump is suffering from the affects of a rancid investigation into his finances and that of his family. He’s understandably angry how that came about.
It doesn’t mean Jeff Sessions isn’t a good man and doing a good job. He’s hammered health fraud with a billion dollar number and arrested over 400 participants from doctors, nurses on down.
He’s conducted escalated efforts against pedophiles and illegal aliens across the country enforcing the law.
He serves at the pleasure of the President. If there’s a strategic value in having him replaced, that may happen. But don’t besmirch the man for cripes sake.
I would rather see Sessions dismiss Rosenstein and appoint a real junk yard dog from within the DOJ as interim Assistant AG who is over Mueller who will narrow down the mandate and put a deadline of October 1st on the investigation.
What “could” have Goudy (or anybody) done in “congress”? They can only hold hearings, not indict. Look at Gowdy’s record as a prosecutor...100% conviction rate. The AG spot is prosecutorial, he has a RECORD for excelling in that environment.
Good. Heat this appointee up until he performs or yields his place to someone who can and will perform.
Using the word beleaguered is mocking the media meme of the day.
Trey Goudy could be a hard-charging AG but he's disappointed some in the past in his handling of the Benghazi hearings.
Rudy Giuliani would be good too if he's still got the fire in his belly. He looked a little "doddering" the last time I saw him speak.
Problem I see coming up, if Trump dumps Sessions, which I think he just opened the door to doing with his comment, is getting a new person approved in the Senate with McCain out and the margin being thin already.
Sessions needs to go soon before this Mueller guy gets too far out of control. Trump's backside is more important in protecting and saving or the rest of the agenda will become moot if he his somehow removed from office.
The only thing less organized than the congressional GOP is this White House. Rience Prebius has to go.
Right, that would work too. I think that Rachel Brand, because she is the Senate Confirmed #3 in the Dept., could be named Acting Deputy AG if Rosenstein is canned, and then she could fire Mueller.
We ought to have a race:
James Comey has to find intent, given public admissions of intent.
Jeff Sessions has to find a crime, given public admissions of criminal activity.
(I got $5 on the heat death of the universe coming in first.)
This is a war. It requires a wartime counselor, not a swamp creature. I like sessions but we need a Patton, not a Degaulle.
The endless stream of septuagenarians proposed by FReepers aren’t going to win wars of any kind.
Trump should have never said he would leave Hillary alone after he won. Did he really think the rats and never trump rinos were going to play nice? Have the rats ever treated ANY Republican president with respect?
I always suspect that when someone in politics appoints someone who is suspected of being dirty, it only means the one who appointed him isn’t squeaky clean.
Get with the program - Hillary and 0bama are above the law.
WTH is President Trump “asking?”
It's part of any group of people in a self-selected bubble, part of the FR charm, if you will.
Fighting it is a fool's errand. Being stressed about it is not in your best interest.
I'm of a mind similar to yours regarding Sessions, but remarks here, by anybody, are totally inconsequential, and mostly amount to nothing more than venting. Not that I don't vent here too, just saying that I know the ultimate value of the activity, which is approximately zero.
trump HAD to nominate sessions because he was an easy nomination to get through congress but sessions turned out to be a huge disappointment and i really like the guy
