Electric cars can still have a future but for successful sales the technology will require a supercharged, long lasting battery that can be fully recharged in say 15 minutes or less. Let the private companies explore the research and not the taxpayers.

No argument here...It was a huge mistake to bail out Chrysler and GM. I will buy a Ford but not a GM or Chrysler product. My 2004 Lincoln Navigator is going strong at 135,000 miles. Only minor maintenance so far.
