Automated aircraft will be the future of high speed travel. The expense of crew and terminals will be eliminated. The number of passengers needed per trip for economics will approach one. Adaptive controls will evolve quickly as needed. Break in bulk points will be spontaneous. First, Amazon will develop the technology for packages, then they will add passengers.

Things that will go away:
Terminals
Crew
City politics
Schedules
Noise
Krishnas, Moonies, begging bums
Pollution
Right of Ways
Airport food
Reservations
Terrorism

“The expense of crew and terminals will be eliminated.”

Crews are one of the cheapest parts of the entire airline cost. Ignorance of airline business is what makes people say what you did.
